Scientific Research at ISEN Yncréa Ouest

The L@bISEN Yncréa Ouest research laboratory is focused on smart and autonomous systems.

Our research teams are committed to offering high-quality academic output (publications, conferences and patents to name a few). Moreover, we have fostered very close ties with industrial partners by showcasing our research initiatives. These, along with our in-house cutting-edge platforms, strengthen the links between research and teaching by means of projects and internships. Our lab’s faculty members have also established an ambitious policy to create researh chairs in partnership with institutional, academic and industrial organizations.

L@bISEN – Yncréa Ouest focuses on three main research strengths: sensor networks, data processing and energy. Our research program at L@bISEN – Yncréa Ouest is conducted within the framework of five topic-based teams:

  • ESE: energy and electromechanical systems
  • KLaIM: knowledge learning and information modeling
  • LSL: light-scatter-learning
  • SEACOM: embedded systems, acoustics and telecommunications
  • VISION-AD: computer vision and data analysis
  • BAT: biology, agronomy and technologies
  • Underwater robotics

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

As of November 2020, L@bISEN – Yncréa Ouest had a staff of 86 members, including 42 permanent associate professors. Six of them are holders of the French university accreditation to supervise research, known as HDR (Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches).

The number of personnel dedicated to research activities has grown in line with the development of the L@bISEN – Yncréa Ouest laboratory. In 2019 there was a 15.8% increase in staff numbers, and over the last five years, the average rate of increase has been 14.3%.
